BEACON (4/2/06) - A full first alarm assignment was transmitted to 131 Washington Ave at about 4:30p for a reported structure fire, possibly a garage. Upon arrival of the first due engine, 33-11, he reported multiple garages involved in the rear yard. Upon arrival of the incident commader, Chief Joseph (33-1), he reported a 20x20 detached one story garage fully-involved with extension to a similar garage behind it. At the same time, companies began to stretch attack lines to knock down the fire.

The fire took about 10 minutes to bring under control and was confined to the two garages with minor extension to a third and also some playground equipment. Glenham was special called with one engine to cover the city. Both fires are currently still under investigation by the City Fire Investigation Unit.
