BEACON (12 December 2006) - At about 5:30pm Engine 33-11 and Engine 33-13 were dispatched for a reported ground fire. Upon arrival of Chief Joseph (Car 33-1), he reported a wooden bridge on fire that is under demolition. At this time Tower Ladder 33-45 was also called to the scene to open up the bridge. Upon arrival of Engine 33-13, the company hit a near-by hydrant and stretched one attack line to attack the fire from the base of the bridge.

Chief Joseph then requested Rescue 33-55 to the scene for assistance and Engine 33-12 to be manned to cover the city. The fire was confined to the east side of the bridge and took a little over a hour to fully extinguish. The bridge is currently under demolition for a new bridge.
