BEACON (24 March 08) - On March 13, 2008, at around 9:00pm, city police were dispatched for a person walking around with blood all over his face in the area of Main and East Main. City police searched the area and did not find any victims. About 15 minutes later, Engine 33-11 was dispatched for a victim of an assault at 350 Washington Ave. Apparently, the victim of the previous assault had walked to his residence at that location. Upon arrival of Engine 33-11, they found an unconscious victim that had been seriously beaten by an unknown object. The on scene paramedic, Alamo 75, quickly assessed the patient and transported him in serious condition with closed head trauma. The victim was transported to the area trauma center, St Francis, as a trauma alert.
Then on March 17th at around midnight, Engine 33-12 was dispatched for a stabbing at the Beacon Train Station. Upon arrival numerous police were out with a large crowd from a fight that had occurred and one subject who had sustained a stab wound from the altercation. The victim suffered a minor stab wound to the back and was accessed at the scene.
On March 24th, at around 10pm, City Police were dispatched for an incident involving a gun in the Colonial Springs Apartments. Upon arrival of City Police, they found a subject that has been pistol whipped and suffered a head injury from it. Engine 33-12 was dispatched to the scene along with BVAC and Alamo EMS. The patient was transported with minor injuries from the altercation.
Also during this time period, City Police were kept busy with a riot of 250 people, shots fired, and numerous other minor assaults. Of these incidents the fire department responded to a few of the minor assaults.
