BEACON (15 August 2008) - A full first alarm assignment was transmitted with Rombout Tower Ladder 62-45 special called due to Tower Ladder 33-45 being out of service at around 3pm. The alarm was transmitted for a reported structure fire at 70 Beacon St. Upon arrival of Car 33-1, Chief Joseph, he reported a duplex with smoke showing from one of the apartment's second floors.

A single 1 3/4" attack line was stretched to the second floor of the apartment to knock down the fire. Also during this time a second alarm was transmitted brining Village of Fishkill Quint 42-12 to the scene as the F.A.S.T. team. Also it brought in Glenham Engine 43-11 to the city for covers. In addition East Fishkill Tower Ladder 39-45 was special called to Rombout's headquarters to cover the area due to Rombout's ladder being special called to the scene. The fire took about 5 minutes to knock down and was confined to one room on the second floor. The fire is currently under investigation.
