BEACON (1 Sept 05) - The city has just been awarded a grant of 200 smoke detectors for it's Smoke Detector Program. The grant which is sponsered by the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) and the National Smoke Alarm For Every Home (S.A.F.E) Foundation will allow the department to offer free smoke detectors to it's residence.
