BEACON (22 July 2009) - At about 2:30pm a Hi-Rise Structure Fire Assignment was transmitted for City of Beacon Engine 33-11, Engine 33-12, Tower Ladder 33-45, and Rescue 33-55 as well as Village of Fishkill Quint 42-12 as the FAST team, Rombout Tower Ladder 62-45, and Glenham Engine 43-11 to the scene. The alarm was transmitted for what appeared to be an apartment fire in the Lo-Rises, reported from the neighboring Hi-Rise. Due to the call being transmitted from the hi-rise, a hi-rise assignment was transmitted. Upon arrival of companies, they found the fire to be in one of the Lo-Rise apartments, a small fire in the kitchen.

Companies stretched one 1 3/4" attack line into the fire apartment and quickly knocked down the fire. The fire was held to the kitchen area of the apartment and did not extend into any other areas. There was no one injured at the incident and the fire was under control in minutes.
