BEACON (26 July 2009) - Just before 9:00AM, Dutchess 911 started to receive numerous calls for a serious dog attack. Upon arrival of city police, they found a pit bull which had dragged a female down the street and that was attacker her at the intersection of Leonard and East Main Street. The police officer immediately discharged his service weapon on the dog, fatally wounding it.

Upon arrival of Engine 33-11, they found a female with severe bleeding and leg wounds from the attack. She was transported by ALS in serious condition from the attack. The company stayed on scene after the investigation to wash down the road of the blood from the incident with a 1 3/4-inch hose line.

Later that day, around 9pm, Engine 33-12 was dispatched for an assault by bat at the intersection of Main and S Walnut Street. Upon arrival of the company, they found a male that was beaten down with a bat and transported him BLS with numerous injuries. The company stayed on scene after the investigation to wash down the road of blood from the incident with a 2 1/2 Gallon Water Can.
