BEACON (26 November 2009) - Beacon had a busy Thanksgiving in Tompkins with a serious stabbing and a child who fell out of a second story window. The first incident occurred on the eve of the holiday at around 4pm when city police received a call for a possible fight. Upon arrival they found a male down in the parking lot in front of Building 13 of the apartments. Upon assessment of the victim, they have found him to be in serious condition with numerous stab wounds. Engine 33-12 was dispatched and arrived shortly after. The engine assisted the ambulance with patient packaging and the victim was transported to St Lukes in serious condition via ALS.

The second incident occurred on Thanksgiving in front of Building 5 located across the parking lot of the above incident. At around 3:45pm, Rescue 33-55 was dispatched for a reported child who had fallen from the second story of the apartment building. Upon arrival of the Rescue, they found a child with a leg injury from the fall. The child was transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the 15 foot fall from the second story window.
