BEACON (3 February 2010) - Just after 9:30pm, a first alarm was transmitted for a reported house fire at 35 Ackerman Street with reported heavy smoke coming from the 3rd floor. Upon arrival of Engine 33-11 and Tower Ladder 33-45, they found smoke showing and positioned to go to work.

Companies quickly streched the first line to the fire floor and started opening up the building. At the same time, Car 1, 33-1 (Chief Joseph) transmitted a 2nd Alarm for fire on the third floor of a 3 story 20x35 wood frame house.

A second line was streched to the floor below as companies learned the fire started in the ceiling of the second floor and spread into the third floor. The fire was darkened down in about 20 minutes from original dispatch and was brought under control in about 40 minutes from original dispatch.

The fire was held to the ceiling of the second floor and two rooms of the third floor, where most of the fire damage was sustanined. There were no injuries and the fire is believed to be electrical in nature. Engine 33-11, Engine 33-12, Tower-Ladder 33-45, Rescue 33-55, and Village of Fishkill Quint 42-12 (FAST Truck) operated on the scene, while Glenham Engine 43-11 and Rombout Tower Ladder 62-45 covered the city.
